The Romanian literary imaginary
The second ROMIMAG project is dedicated to the research of the literary imaginary from Romania as a fundamental component of the cultural heritage, of our national and local identity. As a methodology, the research team proposes an approach to literature based on the innovative concept of social, cultural and artistic imagination, created by the French school represented by G. Bachelard, G. Durand, J-J. Wunenburger, etc. Unlike the various histories of Romanian literature, the originality of the approach is the structuring of the material on the basis of the Durandian concept of “semantic pool”, which allows an analysis of constellations of images and symbols that cross several epochs, surpassing the traditional division over centuries and groups of writers.
